THE
BAND
The Grey Street Band is an eight-member group of experienced,
talented musicians, based in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They cover
a wide range of popular songs from classic '60's hits to the edgier
tunes of today. Their sound encompasses a wide variety of instrumentation,
allowing for a broad range of musical styles. The crispness of
the acoustic guitar or mandolin, layered in with twin electric
guitars and the fatness of a vintage Hammond organ, all backed
by an energetic rhythm section, give the band a full sound not
found in a typical three- or four-piece group. And with four vocalists,
their music is enhanced with a dynamic diversity. |

THE
HISTORY
The
Grey Street Band got its start several years ago in John's home
studio, and included Kaelin, Gary, Greg, and Rick Tinder (on bass),
as well as John. Rick moved over to keyboards, and Rick Sharum
was hired on as the bass man. After going through the usual string
of drummers, the band settled in with Easy, aka "Dr. Beat."
Kaelin & Greg can be seen and heard as an acoustic duo, "The Rain
Kings," in certain venues. They and Rick Tinder (as the bass player)
were formerly in "Big City Moses" together. Prior to that, Greg,
Rick (on Hammond organ), and Easy were part of the blues band
"Slidewinder." Easy and Rick Sharum have joined forces in a number
of bands, including "The No Frills Acoustic Band" and "Nutz &
Boltz."
